About This Site

"The project started with the philosophy that much academic information should be freely available to anyone."

About this site

We created the Roberto Unger Websource in July 2001. Our purpose was twofold: to collect as much information about Roberto Unger as possible for our own research use, and to share this information with others using the World Wide Web. Until we created this site, there was no single place to find comprehensive information about Unger's work. And since we were convinced that Roberto Unger is the most important social thinker writing today, we decided it would be our job to create a comprehensive online resource about Unger's work.

The wide range of people visiting the site is a testament to Roberto Unger's importance. With his penetrating insights into the human situation and his unrivaled ability to work within a variety of academic disciplines to frame the central problems of contemporary culture and politics, Unger is the only thinker alive today whose work rivals that of Aristotle in its breadth and depth.
